Advocate for Traffic Safety.

Starting with Hwy 22 & Perrydale Rd

There has been a 500% increase in traffic-related injuries in the last 5 years at the Highway 22 & Perrydale Road intersection. By redirecting traffic to the future Smithfield Roundabout*, we can create a safer commute for our community. Join us in sending your support to transportation officials, state and regional leaders in our redirection efforts.

Unacceptable Crash Rate

“For a stretch of road to qualify as a safety corridor, it has to have a fatal and serious injury crash rate of 150 percent of the most recent five-year average for similar roadways. That 10-mile portion has a crash rate of 271 percent.”

Redirection Efforts Explained

We believe Polk County has made a reasonable proposal to redirect the traffic from Perrydale Rd to the Smithfield Roundabout* in order to create a safe access sooner, eliminate a 2nd roundabout which has many in our agricultural and logging communities concerned, and is fiscally sound saving millions of dollars by building a bypass route instead of a multi-million dollar roundabout.
